A licence is the right to play publicly in one named location. You receive the files, a certificate, and the repertoire annex. Prices ex-VAT; VAT added at checkout.

Informational, not legal advice. Tonarch music is licensed directly from the rightsholder and is not within the PRS for Music or PPL repertoires, so playing only the Tonarch repertoire does not require a blanket licence from PRS, PPL or their joint TheMusicLicence. UK law gives performers and producers a mandatory right of equitable remuneration when sound recordings are played in public (s.182D CDPA 1988); this certificate is the direct licence that discharges that obligation for the Tonarch repertoire. Playing even a single track from commercial radio, TV or a mainstream streaming playlist brings your premises back within the scope of TheMusicLicence. Any other music you play — radio, television, streaming, live performance or staff playlists — remains your responsibility. Confirm the requirements for your own situation.

The name

Sound, built like a space.

Tonarch joins two roots. Ton — tone; the Latin tonus, the German Ton, the Greek tónos: the tension of a stretched string, the birth of a note. And arch, from arkhitéktōn, the master builder — the same root that gives us architect.

A Tonarch, then, builds with sound: it treats a room's atmosphere the way an architect treats its light and proportion — something designed, not decorated.

That isn't a metaphor we reached for. Tonarch comes from architects — people who spend their days on how a space holds you, how it feels before a word is spoken. We moved that discipline from stone to sound. Every package is a room you can hear, composed for the kind of space it belongs in.
